We have had an influx of children coming to school with a croupy cough this week. Under normal circumstances, we would be very happy to have them in school, having had a dose of Calpol in the morning. However, at the moment, we are still being advised to ask parents to keep their children at home with a cough and see how it develops. We are incredibly grateful to those parents who have continued to support us by doing exactly this.
Should the cough persist, please can we remind parents that they must have their child tested using a full PCR test for Covid and that they must receive a negative result from this before returning to school.
This really is uncomfortable for all of us and I wish I didn't have to ask you but as we are now so close to the reopening of the country again and the relaxation of some of the stricter rules, it is crucial that we continue to protect our school community and all our families by following the NHS guidance.
Many thanks for your understanding and co-operation,
