We enjoyed a delightful morning today, when we opened our doors and welcomed visitors in to see our exhibition, 'Dormansland: Past, Present and Future.' This was the culmination of this term's topic work and included exhibits from every class throughout the school.
As well as several parents who came, we met some people from the local community during the morning. One lady told the children about how her own children had come to Dormansland in 1978 and 1980 respectively, and she was delighted to have the opportunity to visit the school again so many years later and to see what had changed and what was still the same.
I am conscious that this was not an easy time for many working parents to arrange to come and visit the school. It is with this in mind that we will ensure that any future exhibitions on this scale coincide with other school events, to enable you to take just one half day off work in order to attend them all.
Many thanks to those of you who were able to attend this morning. The children loved showing you around!
