Dear Parents and Children,
I hope you have all had the most wonderful Easter fortnight and are now looking forward to the first half of the summer term. I can't believe we have arrived here already, but there it is-THE SUMMER TERM-waiting for us all to leap in with enthusiasm tomorrow morning. I am really looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces as you pass me at the gate.
We have plenty happening this term, as always, so please do keep an eye on the website calendar and on your emails over the next few weeks. We hope to have our termly events calendar out to you by the end of this week, so please check your children's book bags daily too.
As the weather warms up (ahem ....) over the coming weeks, can I remind you that your child will need to have a labelled sun hat in school, and will require sun cream to be applied before school begins. Summer or winter uniform is fine, but please can I ask that you ensure that your child's footwear is appropriate (no open-toed sandals or slip-on shoes for the girls, please) and that it is smart as well as durable. We allow the children to wear black trainers for practical reasons, but I would appreciate it if black was the only colour and not one of many. We had some extremely interesting various on a black theme in footwear last term, so I shall be keeping a close eye on this when the children return.
Can I also ask that, should your child's hair come down to his/her shoulders, this is tied back with an appropriate band for school, please. Again, this is for practical reasons and I would very much appreciate your support with this.
I have a feeling that this is going to be our best summer term yet at Dormansland!
I'll see you all in the morning at 8.40am.
