The staff have been hard at work since school closed on the Thursday before half term. On Friday, we really got to grips with the way in which we want our curriculum at Dormansland to develop. This was an exciting, practical day, full of creative approaches to planning for the children's learning and plenty of enthusiasm for the way ahead. This is still very much a 'Work in Progress' but we are feeling incredibly positive about the way it is all going.
If you are interested in seeing what we have achieved so far, please take a look at the newly updated 'Curriculum' section in the 'About Us' drop down menu on our website.
For today's INSET, we welcomed our Governing Body to work alongside us as we reviewed our School Development Plan and made a start on planning for for the forthcoming year. This, again, was an exciting day, although the work we completed was fairly intense and there is still some way to go before we have a finished SDP, as you can see from the picture below: the product of a hard day's work!
Above all, today gave us a fantastic opportunity to share our vision for the school and to discuss, in detail, the best ways in which we feel we can provide your children with the education that they deserve.
I am really looking forward to seeing the children tomorrow and catching up on all of their half term news.
