As we head towards the close of another day, we are still not much clearer about the definition of key workers from central government. This may happen later on today, but for now we will continue to work with what we know, and make appropriate provision accordingly.
Your children should have brought home their learning pack today and I hope you have found this useful. Please feel under no pressure to get this completed immediately! We are all going to need to allow ourselves a period of adjustment. These resources are just there if you need them as you start to establish a home learning routine for the next little while.
Thank you to those parents who have already come back to me regarding their ‘key worker’ status. I have written to you separately, regarding school opening arrangements for your children.
If you have yet to reply and feel that this does apply to you and your family’s circumstances, please can I ask that you let me know by 10am tomorrow, so that I can finalise my staffing numbers for Monday? You will also receive the letter that other key worker parents have had today.
Finally, I feel I should let you know how amazing the staff here at Dormansland are being throughout this crisis. Not one of them is under any obligation to work through their holidays, in order to keep our school running, and yet every single member of staff has signed up to our rota for the foreseeable future. I really think that says something about just how special they are.
Keep safe, stay sane, don’t panic about any sudden home learning requirements, and, above all, look after yourselves, your loved ones and your neighbours.
I will be in touch again soon, I’m sure.
