We have been lucky enough to have been working with Sue Edkins of Mostly Mosaics this term. The children had the opportunity, during Art Week, to design and create their own paper mosaics around the theme of Dormansland and learning. Sue has taken inspiration from the children's own work to create our first installation of cherries along a plinth in the mian corridor, previously used as a support for coat pegs! While we recognise the need to touch up some of the paintwork around the edges over the summer, we hope you agree that the mosaic itself is something really quite special.
We are really excited about the second phase of this project, when Sue will create a mosaic for one of the pillars in the corridor, also inspired by the children's designs.
