Saving Our New Friend!

There has been much excitement in school today, with the children spotting a small hedgehog on the school field. Mrs Hardisty knows a lot about hedgehogs and was able to explain that it is likely that he might not be very well, as hedgehogs are usually nocturnal animalswho stay hidden during the daytime.

Very gently, Mrs Hardsity scooped him up into a warm box, lined with some soft clothing, and scattered with some freshly chopped vegetable pieces. So many children wanted to help our new tiny friend, but in the end Ethan and Dexter in Year 6 took care of him while we rang the Wildlife A&E Centre to come and collect him and give him some proper medical treatment.

Hopefully, with so much careful love and attention, our spiky friend will now get the help he really needs.
