Safeguarding

At Dormansland, our safeguarding systems are effective, clear and consistent and ensure that all our children feel safe and happy. Children from across the school understand the key principles behind keeping themselves healthy and can talk about how they feel safe in school with confidence. This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are:

DSL Mrs Faye Davies

DDSL Mr Mark Cook
DDSL Mrs Julie Lochhead
DDSL Mrs Emma Higginson

Our Safeguarding Governor is?

Dr Marie Langer

Please report any safeguarding concerns you have to dsl@dormansland.surrey.sch.uk.

Prevent

The Prevent Strategy covers all types of terrorism and extremism, including the extreme right wing, violent Islamist groups and other causes.

From July 2015 all schools (as well as other organisations) have a duty to safeguard children from radicalisation and extremism.  This means we have a responsibility to protect children from extremist and violent views the same way we protect them from drugs or gang violence or keep them safe on line.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Prevent Strategy please contact Mrs Davies, Mr Cook or Mrs Lochhead (Designated Safeguarding Leads) at dsl@dormansland.surrey.sch.uk.
